CHEMICAL PEELS TREATMENT

What is chemical peeling?

A chemical peelis a non-invasive and non-surgical dermatological procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to improve the texture, tone, and elasticity of the skin. Chemical peels contain medical acids that exfoliate damaged skin and promote growth of new skin and underlying collagen, helping to improve its tone, photoaging (damage from the sun), fine lines and wrinkles, and other problems associated with appearance of the skin. These safe and effective peels are commonly used on the face, neck, and chest, and leave skin looking smoother and brighter. Following an appropriate chemical peel, the newly regenerated skin is smoother and more even-toned than the old skin.

What are the different types of Chemical Peels?

There are three basic types of peels including superficial, medium and deep peels.

  • Superficial peels are the mildest form of chemical peel treatments that can also help improve acne and pigment irregularities, like melasma. These peels have very little downtime and a low pain factor. These safe and effective peels are commonly used on the face, neck, and chest, and leave skin looking smoother and brighter.
  • Medium chemical peel removes skin cells from the epidermis and from portions of the upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). It’s used to treat wrinkles, acne scars and uneven skin tone. You might need to repeat the procedure to achieve or maintain the desired result.
  • Deep chemical peel removes skin cells even deeper. Your doctor might recommend one for deeper wrinkles, scars or precancerous growths. You won’t need repeat procedures to get the full effect.

At Dr.Ishani’s Clinics we have access to a variety of medical grade peels, which can be customized to your skin type.

Depending on the type of treatment, recovery time can range from 1-7 days. All peels require some at-home care after the procedure. You should moisturize as directed to keep your skin hydrated.
